Tailored and worn during the end of a storied era, this Boston Braves jacket was worn by one of the vaunted franchise’s players during the team’s final seven years (1946-1952) in Beantown. The maroon satin-like body is accented by a zippered front, white leather sleeves, a sizable felt team logo on the back, and black stretch ribbed cotton lining the collar, waistline and sleeve endings. The interior is lined with a suede-like material and (2) front pockets feature leather-lined openings. Within the collar, a “Wilson” label is accompanied by a size “50” tag, a “Dry Clean Only” tag and a leather hanger. An absolutely rare survivor, this Senior Circuit relic shows heavy wear with flaking about the interior and faint stains on the body.
