“Let’s play two!” The emphatic cry of Wrigley Field fixture Ernie Banks rings quite true with this signed game-used baseball bat, which holds dual appeal for both autograph seekers and 500 Home Run Club buffs. Turned during the 1961-1963 labeling period, this Hillerich & Bradsby “S2” (31.8-oz/35”) signature model weapon was brandished by the Hall of Famer during an era marked by 84 of his 512 career circuit clouts. The white ash lumber exhibits excellent game use with ball, cleat and stitch marks about the barrel, as well as an H-shaped handle crack and handwritten notation on the knob. Between the center brand and barrel stampings, Banks’ blue marker autograph projects (“9”) strength and clarity. Full photo LOA from John Taube, PSA/DNA (for bat use); full photo LOA from JSA (for autograph).
